Let us remember all the children and families who will experience summer break, not just those in our families. We can pray for revival in our communities during this time, as we invite people to church, church activities, vacation with other families, or just sit on the front porch chatting with our neighbors.
Heavenly Father, we are beyond grateful that we live in a time when there are vast educational opportunities for our children during the school year. During this summer break, we take a moment to give You all of the glory for everything our children learned that will grow them into people who can contribute to our community and to the world. Most importantly, we pray a blanket prayer over everyone in our community, schools, and families–that each person will come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior at this time. May they see You in everything around them, perhaps meeting You through Your creation as we spend more time outdoors. We love You and thank You for everything You do in every season.
As summer break begins, may we all be mindful that school and summer vacation are both incredible gifts from the Lord. May these prayers help guide your heart and mind to keep Jesus at the center of your summer holiday.
And when summer flies by so quickly as it always seems to do, I encourage you to continue to come to the Lord in prayer to lift up students, parents, teachers, and their communities with these Back to School Prayers.

Few things strike fear in the heart of Christian parents like sending a child to a secular university and wondering, “Will their faith survive?” Recent research shows nearly two-thirds of young adults raised in the church disengage from faith or Christian community after leaving home—a heartbreaking statistic for families who have labored in love and prayer for nearly two decades.
In this episode, Catherine sits down with Dr. Steven Hall, a respected professor at Lee University with decades of experience in pastoral ministry, counseling, and spiritual formation. Dr. Hall brings not only academic insight but a father’s hard-won wisdom—his own daughter lost her faith at a secular arts high school, plunging his family into a prodigal journey that every Christian parent fears.
