Summer Break Prayers for Students, Graduates, Parents, and Teachers

Summer break is a much-anticipated and generally much-loved time of year for students, parents (mostly), and teachers. Students are happy to have a “recess” from school schedules and homework. Parents have the opportunity to spend more time with their children, especially if they are able to take a family vacation or staycation. Teachers get a much-appreciated respite from their incredibly patient labors throughout the school year. However, summer break may not be picture-perfect for everyone. Perhaps parents work outside the home and have difficulty making arrangements for their children over the summer. For graduates, it can be stressful to find a job–or an affordable school for advanced education. If teachers are only paid during the school year, there may be a struggle to find temporary work, prepare for the next school year, or finish required continuing education credits. Because there are so many changes to adjust to during the summer, both positive and negative, there is much that we can bring before the Lord in prayer. We may need His direction, protection, provision, and a greater sense of His presence wherever we go. We also need to recognize all of the gifts He has given and the mercy He has shown over the school year. Looking back over the previous academic year, and forward over the summer months, here are several suggested blessings to pray over students, graduates, parents, and teachers. Photo credit: ©Getty Images/Pekic

6 Prayers for Fragmented Relationships

I used to collect Willow Tree figurines representing each family member. They rested on my fireplace mantle until the entire shelf came down one year later, and many broke. I was able to glue some back together, but others were beyond repair. This memory reminds me of relationships in general, how they are sometimes fragmented by unexpected circumstances, even beyond repair. The broken pieces of hurt and betrayal can be challenging to heal, but thankfully, we have a good Father who comforts us in all our trials. If you’re unsure what to do with your fragmented relationships, here are six prayers to pray.Photo Credit: ©GettyImages/PixelsEffect

Is There Such a Thing as Unanswered Prayer?

If you've been praying for any length of time, then you have probably experienced prayers that didn't turn out the way you asked. While it's important to remember that God is not a genie granting our every request, the faithful Christian may wonder if some prayers are left on hold, or does God answer every one (just not in the way we expect)?

15 Prayers for Graduates and Graduation Day

The season of graduation and new beginnings can bring a mixed bag of emotions for many of us. Though graduation is a time of great celebration and fresh starts, the letting go process can bring some pain too. Parenting is often just about that – a constant learning to let go; it’s a journey through the years. And whether they’re taking their next steps towards kindergarten, we’re watching them head off to college, or straight into their first big job, it can be difficult for us as parents. But there’s hope. Our children are His. No matter where they go, or how old they are, they are in His care. They are in His hands. He has great purpose for them in this life and that's the very best place we can let them go. In a dark world, that can be hard sometimes. We often want to keep holding on, tightly. It’s a daily process to learn to let go, through all stages of parenting. But as we entrust them straight into the care of our powerful and loving God, we can be assured that He sees, He knows, and is there with them, always. He is able to care for our most precious ones, even far better than we ever could on our own. His hands are big. To carry. To hold. To protect. To cover. To lead. And He loves each one of them more than we could even imagine.Never underestimate the importance of speaking His blessing and truth over the lives of your children, no matter what their ages. Prayer is so powerful, and God’s words are true. He promises in Isaiah 55:11 that His word will never return empty, without accomplishing great things. He reminds us that He hears our prayers and is always at work on our behalf, and on behalf of those we love. So we can send them out… covered in prayer, rich in blessing, with great hope and a future in store. Graduation day is a significant milestone, marking the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work. As graduates step into a new chapter of their lives, it's essential to seek guidance, wisdom, and strength for the journey ahead. Prayers for graduates and graduation day offer a powerful way to celebrate accomplishments while seeking God's blessings for the future. Whether you're a parent, friend, or the graduate yourself, these heartfelt prayers will help set the tone for a hopeful, purpose-filled next step.
5 Prayers and Scriptures for Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo honors the memory of an important battle in Mexico, called the Battle of Puebla. On May 5, 1862, a small and humble Mexican army stood up against a much bigger and stronger French army. Even though the odds were against them, the Mexican soldiers fought with great courage and won. May 5th has become a beautiful celebration of culture, bravery, and most importantly, freedom. As Christians, we love the idea of freedom because God is all about freedom. God gave us ultimate freedom by saving us through Jesus Christ, and the Bible tells many stories of how God helped small groups of people overcome big challenges. When we enjoy the colorful food and the joyful music of Cinco de Mayo, we can let it inspire us spiritually, as well. Celebrating Cinco de Mayo can remind us of how God sets us free from our fears and sins. We can celebrate the fact that no matter how small we feel, our great God is on our side. Here are 5 prayers and scriptures for Cinco de Mayo.Photo Credit: ©GettyImages / Allison Achauer
